Housing community another step in rebuilding after Laura

Benoit Townhomes will provide affordable housing for more than 70 families in Lake Charles. The development features four types of units: one-bedroom, two-bedroom, three-bedroom and ADA. Unit costs will range from $300 to $1,500 based on household income, with an average rent of $986, according to Tom Crumley, Renaissance Neighborhood Development Corporation (RNDC) real estate development director. The project was developed by RNDC, in collaboration with Volunteers for America National Services and Volunteers of America Southwest Louisiana, to bring resilient, affordable housing to Southwest Louisiana. And the opening of this development is just in time for the five year anniversary of the landfall of Hurricane Laura, a category four hurricane that leveled the region and beyond.
